I went down to my local Ford dealer the other day for some work, and they are now filling your tires with nitrogen. Picked up some borchures about it. Cost is 39.99 with that they replace the air in your tires with nitrogen. Also with that fee you are automatically joined into an auto club(like AAA) with various Benifits. I'm probably going to be doing it next week sometime, just thought I'd thow it out there FYI. I'll let you know how it goes.

For those of us who are extremely ignorant about all automotive ........ why would you want to do this, air is free.

Here's a page that might help explain this, but then again they are trying to sell you a product... http://www.innovativebalancing.com/Nitrogen.htm

Ya I went and had an oil change, and they offered it and I had the tires filled with it. If at anytime you need more there is no additional charge you can bring it to any nitro fill station and have it done free, I heard it's used in many military vehicles such as planes and stuff, and you never have to worry about loss of tire pressure, I did just as an extra precaution, cause I'm paranoid that way.

That helps, but I have never had a tire disintegrate from the inside, they seem to get a little worn on the outside first:mustang: . I have had tires go bad due to underinflation before ..... I tend to keep a better eye on the ponies tires though...... still may consider it.
