Mustangs in Movies

[COBRA COMMANDER]

I've been thinking of doing this now for a long time and wasn't sure if or how I should put this list together. This should be very interesting as most Mustang fans can name off a list of movies where the Mustang was the feature car. But what about those movies where the Mustang makes the ever so brief appearance? A movie that isn't about the Mustang or cars, but is simply in the movie as an 'extra' if you will.

Without further delay, I invite all of our members to simply reply to this thread with the full title of the movie. If you feel that the moment in the movie may have been too short and you want to describe where or what sceen you saw the Mustang, feel free to do so.

I think we'll all be surprised in how many movies we'll find our car. Please don't send us links to sites with this info. The purpose is to have some fun with it.

I appreciate the offer, as I have others who have offered the same, but I quote the opening thread... "I think we'll all be surprised in how many movies we'll find our car. Please don't send us links to sites with this info. The purpose is to have some fun with it."

There are a number of sites out there that have a list of movies that the mustang is in, but the point of this post is to have OUR members create the list. I've found mustangs in movies that are purely just in the background of a shot and is not listed on other sites. So this is purely for fun and enjoyment. The other nice thing about this post is that it is a living post and should continue to grow as new movies come out we can continue to update the list.

Just saw this one Today...what a thriller! 1967, "Thunder Alley" , with Fabian and Annette Funicello. Not one but TWO 1965 Mustangs, a Red 65 coupe and a White 65 Fastback. The two Stangs were part of a stunt team, in one stunt the two Stangs went around the track on just two tires.... in the second stunt the White Stang jumped over the Red Stang, it was Amazing, I still haven't caught my breath! Did I mention Annette Funicello?

I am definetly on a Roll...just saw Barefoot in the Park, with Robert Redford and Jane (The B*%#h (B*@#h)) Fonda. Movie is from around 1965, there are two 1965 Mustang Coups park one in front of the other, along the curb in front of the Apartment Building the two featured characters live in.

I was flippin through and caught a chase scene with 2 5.0 coupes chasing a flatbed truck. Turns out the movie was "Black Dog" with Patrick Swayze, Meatloaf, and Charles Dutton. The 5.0s were ATF or FBI agents and they couldn't seem to catch the truck with a full load of guns, WEAKSAUCE!

mustang convertable to visit her mother. The first time it is shown it is
a 65-65 vert, later is it shown to be a 67-68 vert.

Starman - Jeff Bridges is an alien that drives a woman across the country
in a Mustang II Cobra II. The Mustang gets a lot of screen time.

Ya, you have to take Cobra with the time period of what type of movies come out then. Just about anything they could put Sly's name on was going to make money. So he made a few B movies like that one.

Just saw about 10 minutes worth of a movie called The Original Ganster, I couldn't stay at the house I saw this but in the movie there is a 89 to 91 5.0 vert, with a group of Gang members in it, cool car but the gang looked like trouble, also the star in this film was Jim Brown (Football Player) I'm not making this official but if anybody knows of this film or can find out when it's on next, we can officially add andother Mustang. I'll look it up in my "Dish"movie guide.

Son of the Mask..the bad guy LOKIE drives a 1965 coup, Black, customized Pony. I was flipping chanels and came in right at a point the 65 Pony was smoking its tires, so of course I watched the rest of the movie....
save for the Mustang this film was a sleeper, but I think the kids would like it.

Awesome Glenn! That is how I've come across most of those I've noticed. Sometimes I'll stop and watch a movie that I've come across just because it has a city scene in it and I'm looking all over the place for a Mustang.

Cheaper by the Dozen II a sweet little light blue 1967 convertable, owned by the oldest son, it shows up a couple of times.

The Other Sister, at the end of the Movie the couple the film is about get...Sorry everyone I'm going to mention the "M" Word... married and drive off from the church in a 1964 Red convertable. The Mustang is also metioned a couple of times thru the movie and is shown in a photo by one of the characters. Ok it's another Chick Flick, but Sharon had the remote again, Honest!

It was about 1:00 am Sunday morning....I was so tired I was not really watching this movie, but there was this sweet "Red" 64 Mustang Convertable, when a Space Ship pull up next to it and asks directions, no I wasn't asleep, but it got my attention...the movie was "The Navigator", the guy driving the Mustang pulled away and that was the last of it. I shut off the TV and went to Bed! The Mustang was in the film for about 2 minutes.

I just started really reading this thread and looking over the list and as an old road racer I think I have two additions. In the movie 'Grand Prix' with Janes Garner he drives a Hertz gt 350 throughout and in the awful subtitled 'A Man and a Woman' there are Mustangs all over in street and racing scenes.

Its a Steven King film from 1989....Terminal Overdrive, there is this blue 66 -68 Coup in the weeds of a small Junk Yard, (I started to cry at the sight of this but all the other guys were watching so I tuffed it out and chocked back the tears) You'll spot it as the Two Young Newly Weds in this film drive by it just as they go over the Rail Road Crossing....
(I almost cryed at that part too but Sharon was right next to me).

A 74 Gia coup in the Movie "Cuffs" with Christian Slater, he's a rent a cop ...long story ok movie, but bacvk to the Mustang..the good guys are taing cover behind this Gia, during a Shoot-Out with the Bad Guys...the Gia gets shoot up pretty good.

1) a 67 Brown Coup, you catch just a glimps of it as Oliver and Jennnifer are drive to meet his parents.(Oliver Drives this cool 1950's MG convertable)
2) You'll see a 65 Red Fastback several times...its parked out front of Oliver and Jennifers apartment, it moves around so its in a different spot each time.
3) You get a good look at this 3rd. Mustang too as Jennifer is walking home, this baby is parked out front of the apartment, parked behind the 65...must be a Mustang Club meeting somewhere in the neighborhood....Its a 66 Hertz, Black with Gold Stripes, yea a GT 350-H...So Sweet.

Death Race: They use a few styles of Mustangs, but the hero car seems to be a GT500.

Flash of Genius: There are Mustangs of the 70's here and there during the movie. It isn't out yet so hard to explain when you see it.
