My 06 Gt has about 450 miles on it. Should I still wait until 3k for the first oil change, or do it sooner at like 1500 to get rid of the oil that was used to break it in? Wondering if syntetic is best for that car?

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations especially when breaking in a new car.
There's a Mystic Cobra that sure runs well :Track: because proper care was taken.

Only thing in the manual I believe is every three thousand miles. I heard from a couple of hi performance guys that the first one is at 1500. Also, is synthetic Castrol the best to run?????????

I run Mobil 1 5-30 no problems, but a new car I would run what Ford says - Motorcraft filter and Motorcraft 5w-20
I have read 1st oil changes at 1k miles to remove any possible metal shavings, but after that the normal 3k miles. Do what makes you feel comfortable.
My 2cents.

Sounds rights, the 1K mark IS the first oil change according to them. The brand and type they recommend is Ford stuff, but they said any reputable oil is fine. I will do the 1K, and research some syn. and syn. blends. I'll just brouse around. Thanks :)

I would let it break in a bit mroe before going to synthetic, Joe. Go with the 5W-20 per the manual for now.

I switched over to Redline after I put about 3000 on my car.
