I thought it would be interesting to see what people would want on their Shelby GT if they were to buy one. The idea is to include options you think you should have or should be standard for the price of $35K.

Lets not go crazy with saying it should have a 400hp or anything. Lets try to make it realistic.

With that said, here is my list....

The GT500 has vinyl stripes and the way Ford has applied them, with all due respect to those who have a GT500, look hidious. They overlap in locations that grab your eye and give a pronounced raised look. Since Ford isn't building the car, I'd like to see seamless stripes. In a perfect world, they would be painted on, but I would settle for seamless stripes.
In the rear of the car where you see the GT logo and 'FORD' lettering (the fake gas cap), I'd like ot see a special logo such as the one on the CS 6.
I'd like to see a Shelby logo or Carroll Shelby signature embroidered into the seat backing. Something along the lines of the SVT Cobra logo on 01-04 SVT Cobra's.
This may be asking for much, but I think it is doable. In 1999, Ford had a package for those who purchased the Limited Edition 35th Anniversary that contained a 1:18 diecast model, cd holder, key chain, and a few other items. It would be great if Shelby created diecast models of the cars in their true colors and provided one to those who actually purchased the car.
For 07, Ford offers heated and powered passenger/driver seats. Shelby should also carry this option.
Last but not least, get rid of the Ford GT fender badges and use a Shelby logo (not a snake).

How about the option of a factory delivery with tour and pics while the car is being built. I realize that this does not necessarily fit into the $35K scenario, but hopefully it is not too far from the threads intent.

I agree with the list above and these would be the three things that I would like to see added……

Different wheels, something in a 19” like these:

The rear bumper cover off the GT500 - GT/CS

Foglights in the front bumper like on the GT500

And of course I’d choose the Shelby-H hood option.

I agree with the above as well... I would add that if your going to have the hood scoop that it be functional.

I really like the idea of a factory during the build process of "your" car. With the finishing process being performed by Shelby Auto, this might be an actual thing that could happen.

After driving the GT-H, I was impressed by the FRPP packages that will be the basis for this car. Like Paul mentioned, being able to get a 4:10 or 4:30 as an option would be nice. I've also read that a S/C will be an option also. The problem with this is the additional price increase for the S/C pretty much bumps your to GT500 msrp. There's a thin line that this car has to walk. Anything above 38k, no matter what the bolt-on options, and you'll be losing sales to the GT500 (when you can find one for MSRP).

Definitely want the hood option, and I'd gladly pay for painted stripes. Some Shelby-only wheels would also be good. And yes, lose the GT badge and put something Shelby-specific on it.
