I didn't go the Made in the Shade because I had pre-registered for another show that I went to check out for possibilities for the club to perhaps go to next year.

The name of the Show is "It's a Gas Car Show" in Lexington, NC. It is put on by a Gas Company(natural gas) and they support their local United Way.

A very nice little show. Around 100 cars, 10-15 motorcycles and believe it or not, tractors..... Saw a lot of really nice cars. Open show for all years.
Classes are divided up in categories: (Classics, Antiques, Original Cars and Trucks, Modified Cars and Trucks, etc.....)
The voting is done by the participants and spectators. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Trophies were handed out for each class, as well as some special trophies such as Club Participation and Sponsor's Choices.

Positive: Nice show. Really nice cars.
Negative: Geared toward classics, antiques. Even the modified classes for both trucks and cars were slanted more this way. They've been doing this show for a few years now and have asked for suggestions and recommendations. I recommended that they have a class for Late Model Vehicles. Drive time for me was around 2 hours from Clayton(one way).

Another show I checked out on August 5th was the one put on by the Town of Oxford. Around 100 cars and trucks. This is one I definitely recommend for next year. It's close. Top 50 Trophies(I got one). They also have Best in Show broken up in classes and then an overall Best in Class.
