The numbers are near the same, all except the price tag.
Someone who loves BMW and has the money will choose the BMW
someone who has money to buy the BMW but loves Mustangs will choose the Mustang, it all comes down to personal preference I think.

For someone looking for a status symbol, they will go BMW...The comparrison is very interesting though. I'd just take a fraction of that money and build a Fox that would **** the doors off of either of them! :rockon2:

Interesting, this is showing just how well Ford is doing to make strides in the right direction to match the benefits of some of the higher priced brands of cars in many different categories. I will take the Pony. :)

There's so many things to compare, but it's nice to see that Ford can finally put up good hp numbers without bolting on a blower. The engine in my '02 M5 is also a 5.0L V8, 32v that had a factory rating of 394hp, naturally aspirated. It's a behemoth at 4100lbs though! The 5.0L '11 Mustang is a special car. I can only imagine what improvements Ford has in store over the next few years. It's the first new Mustang in a long time that I would consider buying.

I would take my 2011 GT/CS over the BMW; I've driven Beemers and I thought they were way overpriced for what you get. For the extra you pay you should get that much more car, and in my opinion you don't.
BMW fanbois will disagree, of course.

I like my Mustangs, but I also got to drive Erics M3 when he had it. That car is sweet and I would rock it for a DD.
