The SVT Cobra Mustang Club and the SVTOA present their first ever "SVT Superfest" to be held at the world class facility of Virginia International Raceway on May 28-30, 2010.
The past two years have been a lot of fun doing this event and this year we will have Ford SVT at the event along with our sister club SVTOA.
You can get the full details by going to this link but word is spreading and we'd like to see a lot more of HCMC members out at the event.

This is a great event. Tony and crew make this enjoyable for both the car show and track enthusiasts.

Kim and I will be in Motown this weekend for my nieces wedding. This year my work/home schedule just doesn't seem to mesh with the club's event schedule!

As a follow-up Tony is asking us to make an effort to spread the word about this event - especially the car show

Looks like we have a few members signed up for the weekend HPDE (Art, Kevin and David E), a few for sat only (Mark B, Tom P, Jim H, Paul C) and a couple for the car show (Chris E, Kaitlin B).
Anybody else interested in showing their car? Bring your helmet or borrow one, we might be able to get you a ride at speed on VIR. This alone would be worth going to the show. You probably will also get to take your car out on parade laps at lunch.

So, anybody else interested in going up for the show or the school? we have about 11 for the school and 2 for the show. Post up if you are interested so we can look at a meet up place and time.
What other event will you get to show your car at a great place, watch cars on the track, do parade laps, maybe ride along at speed with an instructor, and get to see some nice cars.
Click the link in the first post for details.

Everyone...this is an AWESOME event with not only hair-raising track action but also a GREAT car show with some of the nicest Mustangs you'll ever see...it definitely has a little bit of everything for everybody. This event has grown exponentially over the past three years I've attended and won't disappoint!

I've brought my Shelby in the past for the car show...I need to test and tune this year for the upcoming Summit Point Race in June. We would definitely love to see some older Shelbys at the car show though!!!

We pick David up from Boot Camp in Ga on Friday. He also wants to do the event and Kaitlin wants to show the convertible so I'll have the whole clan there and just about every vehicle. Looks to be another good time.
Great chance for a newb to try out a HPDE event. One day on the North course with an instructor. You can also do a hyperdrive (one session with instructor for $60 at speed). You could show the car, hit the track then put it back in the show. You can't do that at the Mall!

Just in from VIR...
For the first time in the 10-year history of the Special Vehicle Team Owners Association, it has teamed up with other clubs for a weekend celebration of performance Fords and the SVT brand. The SVTOA and the SVT Cobra Mustang Club, in conjunction with TrackClub USA, are presenting their "SVT Superfest" on the May 28-30 Memorial Day weekend, when many people get additional time off, so that as many SVT enthusiasts as possible have the chance to attend. SVT Superfest offers three days of open track action, an SVT, Mustang & Ford car show (with "SVT Recognition Awards" presented by former SVT staffers), a special Cobra R reunion, and a can't-miss Saturday night dinner featuring speakers from Ford, Ford Racing and SVT.
It's all being held at the world-class Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA, just east of Danville, VA. The Ford Racing display trailer and the SVT development trailer are scheduled to be there, showing off some of the most exciting new Fords, including the incredible 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang race car, SVT's Shelby GT500 and even a 2011 Ford Fiesta! Better still, paid members of the SVTOA, SCMC or TrackClub USA get a $50 discount on the 3-day track registration price – which is more than the cost of an SVTOA membership! It's the premier SVT enthusiast event of the year where you'll get to rub shoulders with real SVT people, so if you own a performance Ford or any SVT vehicle, don't delay! Check out the SVTOA website for full details and registration information. And to stay connected with the Ford enthusiast club world, visit www.FordPerformance.com (http://www.hcmcstangs.com/forums/www.FordPerformance.com), because we're driving Ford passion!

Day two is done, Car show had a great trunout and there were a few faces from the club there. The track part of today went very good for those who were up here. Lots of good track time and no major problems. Some guy with a black Mach 1 almost went around at turn 8 today with a special guest in the car that had little to say about it... I'm just sayin. Looking foward to tomorrow and finishing the weekend off with some more great track time.
