Saleen has gone out of business and the company that purchased the leftover crumbs will NOT back any warranty claims, which includes new cars still sitting on dealer lots.

Here's a more detailed post on StangNet; Saleen Warranty (http://forums.stangnet.com/778853-saleen-mj-acquistions-update.html)

I just hope SAI stay's in business long enough to get through my warranty of 3/36,000.

First of all I'm not a Saleen owner, so take it for what it is worth.

I don't see how this strategy can really benefit MJ at all. It's kind of like the old saying "don't bite the hand that feeds you." Why would someone as an owner of a Saleen want to deal with MJ when they take this kind of attitude towards it's customers? I don't know what transpired in the take-over of Saleen, but it just feels wrong to say "Oh your a customer of the 'old' Saleen and it's gonna cost you this much to make this right." That would totally piss me off and not that my individual business would make them much in the long run, but from my college classes in Marketing I always learned that a dissatisfied customer tells a lot more people about their experiences than a satisfied customer. With today's economy the way it is, I would want to keep every one of my customers. Especially when it appears it is only the high-end luxury car markets that appear to be doing well in todays market (the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer) but maybe they feel they are in that market and can be this way without suffering. Let alone how many Ford dealership this will piss off when they can't sell a Saleen that is on their books for this reason.

I just think it would have gone a lot farther for MJ to have said it isn't in their contractual right to honor the warranties of the previous Saleen owner, but they want to keep their customers happy and therefore will continue to honor existing warranties.

Ok, just my $0.02 (however in today's world that is probalby more like $0.0002) worth. I'll get off my soap box now and go back into hidding.

I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is most buyer's wont even know about this and do you think for one minute that a dealer with an interested customer will be upfront and let someone getting ready to layout $50k will tell them, hey that car doesn't have a warranty, are you ready to sign...

When Steve Saleen quit his own company that was a big sign that all was not well. It is a shame.
