I thought this was a great movie, but I had a few problems with it.

1) He did not need to kill the dog. He should have quarantined it until he had a cure
2) Lights set up for perimeter defense should have been at the house pointing out, not at a distance. It is much easier to protect them and does not blind you in the process.
3) All of the mutated people having super powers is a little hard to swallow since it is still human DNA ... we were only talking about a virus, not some DNA resequencer.
4) This guy had a huge biolab in the basement of his house in NY
5) He had a Shelby that was three years old, it still had the window sticker. How was it that it was immaculate. That should have been nasty like every other car.
6) where is he getting all of his lab rats?

I just saw I Am Legend....heres why,
1)He was injured himself and was not thinking clearly, so the dog has to go, plus the dog at this point of the movies was getting more reaction from the audiance than Will Smith was and Will's agent had more pull then the dogs!
2) There were not enough extension cords to put the lights closer to the house, and if all the lights were to close to the house it would be a dead give-away as to the "Hiding Place"
3) Maybe the virus was DNA alternating, thats how they cured cancer, plus if the bad guys were whimps they would pose no real threat
4) New York !?... Big Deal....I have a Meth Lab in my Basement....wait no I don't... I have a Still in my Fuquay Varina Shed.
5) Really now Chuck.... if you had a Sweet GT 500 like that one you know you would sacrifice all things to keep it Cherry, even your drinking water to wash it. I buy bottled water now to wash Ruby since the Raleigh water restrictions have started...Sharon washes all our clothes in diet Pepsi now.

here is my take on the movie. WHO CARES WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE GT-500 scene. but really i thought it was a great movie just left to many questions at the end. But nothing beats the sound of the GT-500(which i hear had a borla x pipe and catback) ripping through the streets of new york city.

My biggest complaint was that the movie ended more abruptly than any movie I have ever seen. I thought there was another good 20-30 min. It was like the writer couldn't think of anything else and just decided to end it. I honestly thought the 3 people were going to leave together and the rest of the movie would be them trying to make it to the colony while being chased.

This was one of those Will Smith movies that could have been so much better and fell apart in so many ways. I'm still glad Ford was a major sponsor of the movie and was Will's transportation of choice. Here are my complaints:

1. How are some streets of NYC jam packed with abandoned cars and others have the cars neatly parallel parked so Will can rip around in his Shelby? Believe me I know, if millions were trying to evacuate Manhattan, ALL OF THE STREETS WOULD BE PILED UP WITH CARS, BUSES, ETC.:frown2:
2. The way the humans/dogs mutated into having super hero strength allowing them to scale walls ruined the movie. Please, make it somewhat more believable.:056_2007:
4. If Will blows up his basement with a grenade, do you really think the woman and child could get out? The basement would have collapsed.:confused5:
5. The way his wife died in a helicopter crash was downright cheesy - figure out another way.

actually, the answer to all of your questions is easy: they had to one up Charlton Heston. (check out The Omega Man if you haven't already.)

how do you one up the man that parted the Red Sea? :D

OK, my wife and I saw the movie this weekend(I know we are a little behind, but that's what happens with a baby in the mix) As my wife put it, come on it's a movie, quit your b****in'. We both liked it and thought it was pretty suspenseful. All of his cars were kept very clean and in three years he couldn't reinforce the house to be a bit more mutant proof. I agree it ended pretty quick and could have gone on for a bit longer.http://www.hcmcstangs.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gifhttp://www.hcmcstangs.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

The answer to #5 is that the dealership in NYC had a $50K ADMU on the car and it just sat in the showroom until he found the car just sitting there.

Very good movie. I enjoyed it myself.

I saw it last night, VERY good. As far as the other stuff, it's a movie. What Wayne said makes sense, he was alone in NYC for some time and prolly' just found the car. I am from NYC and can tell you sewer rats are EVERYWHERE! LOL! The ending was kinda' predictable, and as for killing the dog, maybe he didn't want to make the dog suffer through all the testing. One more thing, the one part that kinda spooked me a little was in the beginning when the dog ran into the "cut out" in the dark. When he saw all those mutated people standing around, I was like "he better unload that clip" LOL! Great movie IMO. :)
