Hi all, I am new to the whole Mustang world. I recently bought a 64 1/2 coupe and I love it !! It is in pretty good shape and is very stock. Original 289 Automatic and still has the original AM radio. Someone did a light resto to it some time ago that is showing a bit but it's a nice 20 footer.

I really would like to make this car more of a driver & a keeper, not necessarilly a racer.... maybe redo the suspension, would not mind upgrading the trans to a c5 - and somewhere down the line get a real pain job on this thing. I do not care about making it a concourse car, not my thing - god made technology for a reason. Suggestions or ideas are welcome.

I bascially was debating about buying a new car and looked at prices and styling today then decided to buy a car at less than a third the price, looks 10 times nicer and is something I would love to drive. I am super happy with my decision. My only current dilemma is a good one I guess, I have a car, I have some ideas, but very little time so I need to know who in the triangle area is best at working on the these vintage Mustangs, especially engine, trans and suspension work? What ever I do I want it done right. Any help is appreciated. Thanks !!

Nice to have you here. I always like to see some fellow classics around here. Any work I need done I do myself, but strictly as bonding time between my car and myself(also a great way to learn about the car). Anything I can assist with just ask. As for resto shops I recently received a flyer in the mail for one in Concord, NC, but can't remember the name. If you need it I'll look for it. Again, welcome.

Welcome - good to have another fellow enthusiast. I have a 67 & my plans for it sound the same as yours.

Classic projects are great, bringing life into something that may have been left for dead, welcome to the site, and good luck with the project!
