Hi and Welcome!! You will have a great time in this club! Everyone is helpful and friendly and there's always some kind of event going on to hang with everyone :)
If you make it to the Nov meeting, just ask where the private room is or look for the corral of mustangs in the parking lot!

Look forward to meeting you and your ride :)

I need to get new headlights for my 1997 stang, there are SO many options to go with.. is there alot of members who own a 94-98 bodystyle stangs in this club?
I was thinking of going with Halo projecter lights or the diamond headlights?
lol plus i asked a shop in cary how much they would install my headlights (since i suck at manual labor) they quoted me 60 bucks a peice!!!

Im not sure about how hard headlights on the 94-98s are but on the new edge stangs all that holds them in is 2 metal clips. I can have both my headlights out and back in within a matter of 2 minutes without any tools

Welcome and we look forward to meeting you.
HCMC members are very helpful when it comes to tech stuff for your Mustang. They have helped me enormously over the years and I am grateful for it.:048_2007:

I've done the headlights on a 95 and it's a piece of cake. I got cobra ones for my 95, way back when. There are much more choices now. I even heard about a one piece design that includes corners that I think would look much better.

That is actually good to know, im on my second engine. I let my fiance' drive it for the first time about 2 years ago 20 min later she calls me and tells me my engine caught on fire and she's on the side of I-40. LOL she swears she was going 60mph. From what a mechanic i took it to said that the Rod busted thus blowin out the oil pan and during this process sparks flew igniting the oil in the engine .. luckily there was no body damage to the stang so i replaced the engine with one from the junk yard for 500 bucks a buddy of mine who works there got me a deal. i had to find someone to install it for me.. it cost me a pretty penny. Even though people were telling me to cut my losses and get a new car i couldnt depart from my little Pony..
See what happens when you let your wife drive a sports car? lol im kidding...
When i told her i wanted to be a part of a mustang club she shook her head and just said i need all the help i can get..lol

appprox. 140K on mine. It's showing it's age but running fine. I imagine 100K+ engines are pretty much the norm for the 95 and older stangs.

Have you had any problems? For a while now i've had problems with the engine running a bit hot.. even on my second engine i had the same issue.

Since I put in the 180 degree thermostat, the only time the temp rises above the "O" in normal is when I'm sitting in traffic or at a traffic light with the a/c on. But then the needle only goes to the "M" in normal.. whatever that temp is.

I've gone through so many thermostats its amazing. It would work for a couple of months then it would go to the "M" when im driving. I finally got fed up and took it to Crossroads ford service department and they looked at it and found nothing.. since then it hasnt overheated.. weird?
Now it ranges from the "O" to the "R" .. every now and then it will go to the "M" but it quickly goes back to the "R"

I was just told the engine on those year mustangs run hot.. i didnt buy it for one second. When i bought the car i never had any problems with it until i hit 75,000. I bought the car at 48,000. Engine Blew at 134,000. Replacement Engine has 78,000 miles.

I've never considered the "R" or the "M to be hot. I've always thought of that area of the gauge to be .. no pun intended... normal. But now, since mine runs so cool, it catches my attention when the needle approaches the middle of the gauge. I'd be interested in seeing the temp. reading on a gauge with degree markings.

Gears, dual exhaust, K&N, maybe headers - not much after that. If you want to maybe a small nitrous shot would be fun.

lol yea im gonna need help putting all that in .. Well I can install a K&N Filter but that is as far as my expertise on cars go..
If i get dual exhaust dont i need to get new headers? Or how do u convert a V6 into a dually

There's a cat-back for the V-6's that comes off of the single pipe and splits to duals. It replaces the single exhaust cat-back. Carolina Mustang's high performnce shop (Cary) has one hanging on the wall. I think it's a Flowmaster.

A 50 horsepower shot of nitrous would be interesting.

I have not had a problem with my temp, I use Redline waterwetter and the 180 thermo. I also have UDpulleys. There are a lot of parts availalbe for V6s.
CAI, Mass Air, TB, and above mentioned stuff.
Here is one of my favorite place (they have a V6 section):
http://www.need-4-speed.com/V6%20Performance%20Corner.htm

The best thing for my engine was the Ford gasket recall. I pulled in with 99,998 miles... you had to come in before 100k for the recall. :D
