What Happened to the Ford PowerLease ?

I was reading a letter to the editor of Mustang Enthusiast talking about a problem a guy had with the Ford Power Lease deal in 2004. The guy bought an older SVT Lightning on a good 24 month lease and was promised a lease deal on the new Lightning. Since the Lightning was scrapped, he was left with no deal, but a consolation on getting a Shelby GT500. When he saw the $20,000 mark-up on these he inquired about paying it under his "consolation deal" and was told the mark-up would stay. What's going on here ?:toetap05:

Unfortunate. I also had asked about the power lease and I think that Ford offered them some deal on buying the Lightning. It has been a while now but I think that was one option they gave those who were part of the plan.

I had thought about doing one of these as well, but part of the reason I did not is the dealer (I will not name names) declined to assure me a price on the SVT Cobra replacement. I saw the writing on the wall with that, and said screw it.
