NFL U Pick'em HCMC League

[COBRA COMMANDER]

It is nearly that time again for the U Pick'em NFL Season. For those of you who don't know what it is, the HCMC has been playing this for the past two years. You pick which NFL teams will win each week. That is all there is. Unlike fantasy football where you have to follow players, all you need to do is look at the matchups and pick the winners.

I've contacted WRAL and they have told me that they will have it up soon. If it was like last year, they won't have it up until the week of the NFL season openers.

If you are interested in playing, please post up. If I don't have your email, I'll PM you for it. There is no money involved. This is purely a play for bragging rights type of thing.

There is one rule: if you do not pick your teams for two weeks in a row (2 consecutive weeks), you will be removed from the league.

Going to be a great season. Lots of teams on the rebound and some talent combinations that are really going to be exciting to see. I can see my Pats winning 12, but there are going to be some very tough games along the way.

Here we are at week 4 end and it was a very poor week for all of us. While looking over the stats, I wish that the page would have more group stats. So, I created my own sheet and thought I would share them with everyone. Since we drop the 4 worst individual weeks, I thought I would break it down into 5 week sections and drop 1 week at each 5 week interval. After next weeks picks, I'll look over your worst week and drop it. At week 10 I'll drop another worst week and that should encompass 2 of your worst weeks. This way, you can keep up with the groups true standings. There is a legend below to help define what you are looking at. If this is something you are interested in, each Tuesday I'll post an updated sheet. So what do you think, should I continue to publish this?

Thaks Paul. The site will only start dropping your four worst weeks starting week 18. I thought by doing it every five weeks, it would give those who missed week 1 a better picture of where they stood vs. the rest of us who started week 1.

And congratulations to you once again for going out there and making the most correct picks again this past week! You are on a tear, back to back weeks!

I agree, I can't believe that 8 was the best pick of the week. Many over acheivers this past week is how I chalked it up.

How do you read this? Lets use paulman as an example.

His worst week was week 2, so it was dropped. However, if you are interested in uncorrected numbers (not dropping a week) then you'll see that he has made 49 correct picks or 64%. Now taking out the worst week, he has made 41 correct picks or 68%.

I'm providing both numbers just to show how this game takes into account the dropped weeks and how it will determine who wins the league vs. who is really most accurate.

The next dropped week will occur once week 10 is complete.

Hey all good be here! i would have showed up sooner but I was in the wrong group, I was really there all the time just in a Time Warp.....consider me the Wild Card Guy.
As for picking, I use my 8-Ball, so far this year has been crazy, its tough to pick from week to week,there is almost no real sure thing any, more!

Here are the results from week 9. Congrats to William who has made a push to contend for the top spot by making the best picks two weeks in a row. Congrats to me for taking the lead.

Someone has to stop him! With that said, I think this upcoming week has some difficult selections to make. I forsee some upsets and probably a change of the lead this week. Also, this is week 10 coming and after all the games are complete I will be dropping another worst week selection. The week that will be dropped will be from all 10 weeks. In other words, if the week that has already been dropped is better than two of your recent weeks, then that week will count and those two lower weeks will be dropped. Don't ask me to explain again cause I'm confusing myself! Don't fear, I know what I'm doing!

No surprise that this was a tough week for all. For nearly all of us, we dropped this week as our second week. Lots of intangables that played out over so many games.

We've dropped a second week and have two more weeks left to drop. I looked at the entire 10 weeks and not just the last five. This is consistent with how the application will drop weeks at week 17. Here is how we look after 10 weeks of play.
