what size does a 93 Mustang door speakers have?

Ok.. what size speakers does a 93 Mustang have in the doors. I have 6 1/2 Boston Acoustic spereates / components speakers I tried toinstall. But the door speakers don't fit. I am guessing they are 5 1/4 but I want to verify it before I purchase new speakers.

And.. if they are 5 1/4 I will have a pair of Boston Acoustic 61/2 component speakers for sale if I do need a different pair to fit.

According to the Crutchfield web site ( http://www.crutchfield.com ) all '93 Mustangs were equipped with 3.5" speakers in the dash, 6.5" speakers in the front doors and 5x7"speakers in the rear.

You have to be careful, not all 6.5" will fit in a 6.5" space, you have to double check the measurements, mostly depend on depth. most fords use oval speakers, I'm not sure about fox bodies but Crutchfield is usually a good source. You can also check out a hanes manual too. I know I had to get an adaptor plate for my 95 fronts, and went with 5 1/4 seperates.

Which component speaker system did you pick for your '95, Chris? I'm considering going with Polk Audio primarily becaue I'm very happy with the Polks I have installed in my house.

yeah see the 6 1/2 diffeitnly do not fit in the doors. So I may need to seel them and buy some 5 1/4 seperates. I am having our local tool man Richard double check for me

I did go with Polks for the 95, was very happy with them. I had a pair of bostons too, a while back and was happy with them as well. For the house I went one better and have Def-techs.... (Definative Technology), they dont make car audio.

I checked and I have some alphine 6 1/2 in mine.

So you have 6 1/2 interesting. Well guess I will measure the opening in the door to double check it. But other than that I installed a 50x4 Phoenix Gold amp now, so my stereo now sounds good, which compluiments the Stang. Now if the 6 1/2 will fit.

well i cheked mine and they take 5 1/4.. odd. So looks like i will be selling my 6 1/2 Boston Acoustic seperates
