I just installed the set of Tokico D Spec Adjustables on my 2001 cobra. The shocks have 8 levels of adjustment from super soft to hard. They come already in the hard position so i left it there and took a test ride. I went down the worst road I could fined I was expecting a rock had nock your teeth out ride, instead it was surprisinly smooth. Launched from 1st grabed second usally i get a lot of wheel spin, now it just squats and keeps on going. Tomorow I'll back it down to the 5th setting and see what suprise is there. Oh yeah taking corners suprised me also turned like it was on rails (for me at least) seemed like there was little body roll. All in all so far these are pretty cool shocks.

Nice work - did you do the struts too ? What springs do you have ?

Yes I did the Struts and the Shocks at the same time. Took about 2 1/2 hrs to put them on. I have the H&R Sport Springs, with the stock spring isolators. I also backed the positioning on the Shocks/Struts down to position 4 on all corners. Ride is smoother, but still fairly firm. GOOD TIMES

Sounds great, as you know I just put on new springs, my next up-grade is shocks and struts. Whats involved in changing the settings, do you have to raise the car with a jack or what? Also did you find it necessary to get a re-alinement after the front stuts?

To change the setting on the shocks you insert the allen head tool that comes with them into the top of the shock/strut and turn it left for soft, or right for firm. I supported the entire car on 4 jackstands. I started at the front driver side placed the jack under the control arms to hold the spring in place while the strut was removed and for safety. unbolted the old strut and replaced it with the new one (repeat 3 more times). I had to transfer the bump stops from the old to the new struts other than that it was a bolt and go. I removed the paneling in the truck to reach the top of the rear shocks. The alignment I got one just to make sure everything was where it should be as they were new shocks and the geometry could have change from the worn out ones i replaced ( I also have a life time alignment at firestone another reason i took it in), but to answer yout question yes i would recomend and alignment little preventantive maintanence saves your tires down the road
