Saw this one last night. Very good movie, had some good suspense parts in it and a couple twists. Along the lines of castles, dragons, dragon riders, myth, and magic. There is a second and a third one in the making. Eragon is part one of three in this "trilogy" storyline. It is a good family movie too. If you are like me and enjoy movies like Pirates Of The Carribean 1 & 2, and other like films, you will love this one too!

Sorry Joe, but I've got to disagree. One of the most disappointing movies.
The story line went too fast. There little to no character development. You go from a baby dragon to a full grown dragon is 5 min. He's able to speak in this secret dragon language that he has never heard before. He learns a few words but out of nowhere he just blurts out things? And you are taken to this city past the waterfall that everyone buys into him being a hero etc...?
Kids will like it, but this movie could have been so much better if they had only taken their time to tell the story, put some development into the characters so that they just don't appear, get harmed, and Eragon is on his way to being the hero.
Pirates was 500 times the movie this was.
But that is just my .02

:banghead: Oops, I overlooked Wayne's old Eragon thread, I even looked to see if I could find one. Anyway, maybe the next two parts will incorporate more of what you said. I agree with some things you said, but I enjoyed the rest of it so much, I didn't pay much attention to that. The plot did move a little fast and could have included more, but I liked it. I am going to see the next two and see what they offer. Hopefully the "bad" dragon will fight Eragon's and add some more suspense. Chuck did post in the older thread that the characters did come and go kinda fast, I can agree with that too, and the fact that the plot kinda "rushed" itself through. Other than those two things, I'll see the second and third one.

I have read both eragon books and was dissapointed when i saw the movie in theaters. But its been about 2 months since i read both books and i got the dvd and it seemed alot better now that i dont have the book fresh in my head. After watching all of the deleted scenes it kinda made it better to cause it showed why they strayed off the real story and used diffrent charactors then what were in the book.
