Who's run a lightweight flywheel before and could share their experience with them? By lightweight I'm refering to billet aluminum style flywheels that are ~14-17lbs. I'm replacing my trans soon and I've already resurfaced my flywheel once so it may be time for a new one.

I've personally run a lightweight on a WRX but that's a small high revving motor and my results were very good with that combination. I'm curious as to what to expect from one on my 5.0. With my H/C/I combination I'm making power from ~2700-6200rpm and thought a lighter flywheel may be a benefit.

Not worth the money for a street car 5.0, IMO. Lighter flywheel will feel like a loss in low end torque around town.

I replaced my 99 GT with an 03/04 Cobra flywheel/clutch kit. The factory 03/04's came with an Alum. flywheel with steal inserts. I also put an Alum. driveshaft and there was an amazing difference. The engine would climb rpm's much faster. I highly recommend a lighter flywheel and driveshaft for a '99 - up GT. As for the 5.0's, I don't know how they respond.

Looking back at your post your question was about the 5.0's, I guess my info isn't much help.

I wouldn't say that. Any insight is helpful. I've been browsing the national forums and many people are pleased with the results it seems.

I'm not worried about any loss in low end due to the H/C/I combo I have, it's meant to make power higher up. The car is a stick so it just means launching at higher RPM when trying to get out of the hole. I do most of my driving in the upper range.
