Hi. I am new to this forum and to HCMC. My son and I are getting ready to restore a '65 fastback (4 sp, A code) and we would like to tap into the experience of other HCMC members. We have refurbished several cars over the past few years, but this will be our first pony. We look forward to sharing some of our projects here and getting to know some of you.
For starters, we'd like to get some advice concerning part suppliers. Who are your favorites? Who have you found to be the best in price, quality and service?
Thanks much, John

Hey John welcome to the site and hope to see you as a new member. The Father and Son project sounds cool, look foward to seeing how it turns out, I'm sure there are plenty of members here who could help point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the site.
There are members of the clubs that have done frame off restorations of their classics. Not all of our club members frequent our site, but I'm sure if you attend a few meetings there are people that you'll be able to tap for information.
As for parts, being in NC is a good place to be. There are a number of places to get great reproduction parts. Dainel Carpenter Mustangs creates their reproduction parts from original Ford dies that they stamp on site in Charlotte. We took a tour of that facility and museum last year.
**Note to Chuck, we may want to look into that trip again!
Again, Welcome.

Congratulations on your purchase. I am sure it will be a great father/son experience. I have a 65 hardtop, A code, C4. There are many reputable suppliers of vintage Mustang parts. I have had my car for 14 years and purchased plenty of parts. Most were good but there have been a few dogs over the years too.
I have had good experience with Virginia Classic Mustang, Mustangs Plus, and National Parts Depot. I used Mustangs Unlimited the first few years also. The quality of repro parts have improved a lot and there is some really cool stuff if you are looking to restomod. I have a number of restoration books and articles from Mustang Monthly and Mustangs and Fords if you need them. Feel free to send me a PM. An original Ford Shop Manual is a great reference.

Hi CB. Haven't started yet, still in the planning stages. Will be taking my camera to Lowes next month for ideas. A couple of folks have suggested suppliers and we've ordered their catalogs. Any you would recommend?
