I have an opportunity for a FREE engine/tranny out of an 82 F150. I am still waiting on more info, but this is what I THINK I have found out so far. It is either a 351C or 302. Obviously, the 351 will not work as I want to keep it a bolt in swap. The 302 appears to be too old to be a good donor as I wanted to keep hydraulic roller rocker setup. I will post more info this afternoon when I get the specific info. Does anyone know what year engines meet my wants?

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Windsor_engine)....

Throttle body fuel injection (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_injection) first appeared for the 302 on the Lincoln Continental (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Continental) in 1980 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980), and was made standard on all applications in 1983 except Mustangs and Capris. Roller lifters, and a steel camshaft came in 1985, and electronic sequential fuel injection was introduced in 1986.

I also noticed on lunati's website that the roller cams are stated as 1985+.

It's probably most definetly NOT a 351C. If it is, then it isn't original to the 82. Then it's probably a 351M not C. Either way you dont want to deal with a 335 series. Stick with the windsors.

It is probably the 302 .... owner says there is lots of extra room in the engine compartment. Still waiting to get the VIN.

I had a 351M in a truck and there was plenty of room. The obvious difference is it uses a big block bolt pattern for a C6 or other manual tranny. A 351M also has angled valves, a great truck engine but I wouldn't put it into a car.
